SquadCon is a two-day conference powered by BlackGirlsHack. This conference is in Las Vegas during Hacker Summer Camp. SquadCon 2024 will be held August 7–8th at the Industrial Event Space, with a kickoff event on August 6th. We will have amazing keynotes, discussion panels, beginner-friendly hands-on workshops, and a fantastic lineup of research and fireside chats on some of the latest edge trends in cybersecurity.

SquadCon is more than just a conference. It’s a mission to address underrepresentation in the field of cybersecurity. By highlighting diverse contributions and experiences, SquadCon 2024 provides an inspiring opportunity for attendees to learn about cybersecurity and hacking in a supportive and inclusive environment. We invite you to be part of this important mission.

Our goal is to “Con Differently.” Focusing on inclusivity, we promote diversity and inclusion within the cybersecurity community. We encourage speakers and panelists from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented groups to share their perspectives and experiences. Lastly, we will equally value and welcome the input of those entering the field as those who’ve been there for years.

At SquadCon, you’ll immerse yourself in an empowering and inclusive environment dedicated to advancing gender diversity in cybersecurity. The conference features thought-provoking talks, hands-on workshops, and engaging panels led by leading women in the field, addressing their unique contributions and challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with peers, mentors, and industry leaders, fostering open dialogue and building a supportive network. Whether you’re a seasoned expert or new to the field, SquadCon provides a space to learn, grow, and celebrate the contributions of women and girls in cybersecurity, emphasizing representation and inclusion.

Last Year, a huge sandal from a boneheaded decision from DEF CON Staff turned into one of the best newest editions to Hacker Summer Camp in Las Vegas for 2023!

Back again this year, the focus on what has been presented seems to be a mid-sized Goldielock zone; not super massive like Black Hat and DEF CON but not super niche and small like the previous Fuzzcons. Small enough to be intimate and social but large enough to be a three day tour-de-force. Focus similar to their booths is on diversity and inclusion in race, gender and sexuality. Balancing the business carrier side of InfoSec with the insane tricks of 1337 hackers, it’s a unique, inclusive experience something new on the lead up to DEFCON 32 and especially right after attending The Diana Initiative!
